In comparison with men, women have different endocrine profile and experience different heart disease development. In other words, when cholesterol-lowering meds work for men, they are absolutely useless for women. Eat more fiber. It comes with veggies, fruit, nuts, and whole grains. Beans also belong to this food group. Fiber is known for its health benefits: it helps lose weight, normalize your blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties. To benefit from it, eat at least 30 grams of fiber a day.  

Healthy Fat

There is no need to be on a low-fat diet. However, you have to consume healthy fats only. Take them from nuts, avocado, olive oil, and fish. These foods can help prevent a heart attack and control your weight. Seeds and dark chocolate also have healthy fats that work for your brain as well.


Exclude commercial fatty meats from your menu. This food is loaded with unhealthy fats and pesticides. You better go for seafood and organic chicken and eggs that are rich in lean protein. Consume more beans to control your sugar blood and cholesterol levels and extend your lifespan.


Drink at least one liter of pure water every day. Enjoy as much green and mint tea as you want, but do not drink more than three cups of coffee per day. There is no need to sweeten the beverages.

Have smoothies that are rich in fiber and protein. To prepare one, mix some organic berries with seeds and add some protein powder.

Spices and herbs

This food group includes such spices and herbs as curry, garlic, chili, and Italian herbs. They do not only prevent cholesterol plaque growth and improve your metabolism, but also slow down the aging process and reduce inflammation.

Add these foods to your daily menu to nourish your heart and reduce the risk of heart disease. These foods will also make you look younger and fitter.
