Green diet was offered by US nutritionists in the last century and for some time was quite popular. It is based on the idea that the green color improves digestion and helps with weight loss.
It is clear from the name that you should eat vegetables that are in green color.
fruits – green apples, pears, kiwi, gooseberries and others.
vegetables – green zucchini, peppers, onions, parsley, squash, cucumbers and other local and exotic fruits and vegetables.
green tea – also allowed to drink during this diet, but without sugar
Fruits should be ripe and it’s best to eat them raw. You can also make a vegetable stew. Every two days you can eat products rich in protein: a small piece of chicken breast without skin, fish, or 1-2 eggs.
SAMPLE DIET MENU
Breakfast: oatmeal or buckwheat porridge, boiled in water. You can add sliced green apple and honey
Second breakfast: a glass of low-fat yogurt, 1 kiwi or green apple
Lunch: salad (cucumber, green peas, cabbage, green onions, parsley, spinach), 1 egg, a glass of freshly squeezed apple juice
Dinner: braised cabbage with zucchini, low-fat fish.
Is is recommended to practice this diet in the summer when there are lots of fresh fruits and vegetables for sale.
People who are not used to plant foods can have some problems with the intestines.
This diet is not suitable if you have an allergy to green fruits.
