Traditional English Diet – Weight Loss Menu Plan And Reviews

Traditional English diet belongs to the low calories group of diets. This is not a balanced eating plan because the key to this diet is cutting portion size. There is also a widespread belief that this diet came to us from England, where it appeared a long time ago and is still popular today. In fact, this diet has no known relationship to old England.

The diet has this name because you will drink on average 4 cups of strong black tea a day. The duration of this diet is five days; you can repeat the course once in a month and a half. Depending on your weight when you start out and your metabolism, you might expect to lose up to 6-8 pounds (3-4 kg) during this period. This is excellent weight loss program if you need to look perfectly before an important event.

General Principles

  • Four meals a day
  • Keep salt to a minimum
  • Recommended to eat jam with strawberries or blueberries with a minimal amount of sugar
  • Drink 4 cups a day of strong black tea without sugar for the most benefit
  • Eat rye or whole wheat bread
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day, at least 1.5-2 l
  • Shouldn’t eat dinner after 8 p.m

Lunch: chicken broth with a slice of wheat bread, cup of tea
Afternoon snack: cup of tea
Dinner: piece of bread with butter and cup of tea

2. Day

Lunch: 2 hard-boiled eggs, bread with butter and cheese, cup of tea
Afternoon snack: cup of tea
Dinner: 2 apples

3. Day

Breakfast: cup of tea with jam
Lunch: boiled chicken leg without skin, cup of tea
Afternoon snack: cup of tea
Dinner: boiled beans

4. Day

Breakfast: oatmeal porridge with water without sugar and spices, cup of tea
Lunch: 3 hard boiled eggs
Afternoon snack: cup of tea
Dinner: 2 pears

5. Day

Breakfast: bread with butter and cheese, cup of tea
Lunch: boiled chicken leg without skin, cup of tea
Afternoon snack: cup of tea
Dinner: two small boiled potatoes, cup of tea

Precautions

The effectiveness of the old English diet is entirely based on the sucking moisture out of the body. In other words, you probably won’t lose fat at all. This diet belongs to group of extremely low-calorie diets

After the diet, you may feel terribly hungry and think about food all the time so that you can gain the lost weight pretty quickly. Like any extreme diet, this diet could pose long-term health risks and is not suitable for

  • pregnant women
  • people suffering from high blood pressure
  • people with digestive diseases
  • people with cardiovascular diseases
  • teenagers
  • people who are physically active throughout the day

Side effects

Lowering caloric intake can lead to such consequences as dizziness, mood swings, drowsiness, seizures, stomach pain, etc. If you decide to follow this diet, consult with your doctor and don’t combine this diet with any medications.
